I wanted to share my passion for jewelry. My relatives bring me jewels from abroad and I also buy them in France and abroad. Today, it is a ring from Burkina Faso my friend Pauline offered me. It is composed of two different woods and its shape is quite contemporary, with respect to wooden jewels I used to see. This category is very simple, the purpose is to show what I find. crédits photos : L’Envers du décor
savoir-faire
Olivia learnt to create jewels when she moved to Istanbul. She evokes her skills, her difficulties and the discovery of manufacturing methods in Turkey. Where do you work? I create wax models at home, in a small workshop and then, I take it to Istanbul Grand Bazaar where pieces in bronze and moulds are produced. Thanks to big spaces, I can separate my workshop in two parts. A space dedicated to conception-production and a space dedicated to metal work, outside, in the family blacksmith. However, I would also like to work in co-working spaces simultaneously (I am looking for it).   How does your creative process work? It depends, sometimes I already have a precise idea and I write it down on a paper to see how I can make it. Sometimes, a documentary or a book gives me references. Generally, it is the meeting with a material which provides me a multitude of interpretations. I draw then I…Continue Reading
